How much will it cost me ?

A.

Compared to your long term happiness & health? - peanuts! In monetary terms I make it affordable for anyone. If you're on benefits you will be under more stress than someone who can afford full fees, and since EVERYONE needs access to help within their means when they need it, I'm asking for NO payment until you're happy that you've got the result you're looking for, so it's NO RISK, expenditure (but the success rate tends to be higher if you can pay on the day).

Will I go unconscious ?

A.

No, hypnosis is not sleep. We use that word sometimes for convenience. Your conscious mind can still listen in on what's being said and you can still accept or reject anything you want. In your session I'll have a conversation with your unconscious mind, and your conscious one when necessary.

How does hypnosis work?

A.

Hypnosis works by quietening the part of the mind called the 'Critical factor'. This allows the installation of the clients own desired behaviour changes.

When might hypnotherapy be useful ?

A.

Hypnotherapy is becoming widely recognised as a very effective treatment for breaking or changing habits, for stress busting & for a range of long-term conditions. In recent years it's been gaining endorsements by the medical world after a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), recognised it useful for alleviating Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). The uses though are almost unlimited, from simple nailbiting to pain relief and even anaesthesia for dentistry etc.

Does everybody respond to hypnosis ?

A.

Yes, our brain structures are all basically the same even though our personalities are all different so unless you've never got lost in a film or book or even listening to music then you're hypnotiseable. Even if you only go into a light trance on your first 'offical' go then serious changework can still happen because it deepens as the session goes on. I use parts therapy & language patterns that are derived from NLP to focus attention which is trance-forming in itself. It happens sometimes without even noticing, until you realise later that your thinking has changed in some way.

What qualifications do hypnotherapists need to have ?

Currently there is no regulation by law but reputable hypnotists will always have completed a recognised training course and be members of one of the associations that check members for continuing professional development and for evidence that they've attended supervision on a regular basis. How many sessions will I need?

A.

For smoking generally one. It rare that a client will need a 2nd session but it's available if needed. I also give the customer a handout with tips to avoid temptation in the early days. A backup mp3 session is also available (different to the main one to one).
